| ComMet is a platform to develop and promote the inherent
talents of commerce and management students coming under
University of Calicut. It is organized annually by the
Commerce Club under the guidance and supervision of the
Department of Commerce. The two day residential programme
is an opportunity for the students to compete in various
individual as well as group programmes. Competitions like
brand wars, biz quiz, communication games and mock press
are the main attractions of the event. Seminars of academic
importance are also arranged. More over, the occasion
marks the get-together function of the students from various
parts of the University. For the winners of the meet ,
merit certificates are distributed along with cash prizes.
Participation certificates are also issued to all the
participants. |

Brand Wars |

This is a very interesting team game. In this
game , after qualifying in the initial round, the
participating teams have to devise a marketing strategy
for a product given to them. The nature of the product
given will be like that the product is not known
to the market and not running so far in the market.
The teams have to devise an organization structure,
marketing strategy, cost sheet and final account
for this innovative product by members acting as
marketing manager, HR manager, production manager
and finance manager. The teams have to present their
ideas, strategies, views, promotion activities etc,
before the judges. Materials for preparations and
advertisement will be provided at nominal cost. |

Biz Quiz |

| |
This is an event for evaluating the participant’s
knowledge of business events, personalities, environment
etc. This game consists of a qualifying written
round and a final oral round as a stage event. The
teams have to give the names of participating members
at the time of registration. Basic questions relating
to commerce and industry will only be asked. Any
two members from Brand war team can participate
in this event. |

This is an event for evaluating the participant’s
communication skill. Any two members from brand
war team can participate in this event.
It consists of three rounds
a) Preliminarily round.
b) Extempore( Continuous speaking on the given topic)
c) Dump Charades. |

Mock press |
| |
| |
This is an individual event where the participant
is asked to enact a personality on the stage and
question are showered on the personality for which
the participant has to give answers as if he were
the personality. The participant in this game should
not participate in any other games. It consists
of three rounds
